Our lovely home has been a lot of work for us lately. Being an older house, we knew we'd have to do upkeeps more often, but with our luck, they wanted to come all at once for us!! First off, our basement bathroom flooded about a month ago. We first thought there was a leak in a pipe from the upstairs bathroom, but come to find out, Haiden decided it would be fun to flush a bunch of baby wipes down the toilet upstairs which clogged it and the suction thing that holds the toilet down, unattached and that is where all the water was coming down to the bathroom downstairs, causing the wall and ceiling to seep with water. It was bad!! Douglas knocked down the ceiling, and all at once TONS of water poured down!! SO GROSS!!! After 5 hours of clean up, getting the clog fixed, and Douglas redoing the sheet rock, we just now need someone to come mud and tape the ceiling and wall for us to repaint. Now, onto the next project. About 6 months after moving in, Mekenzie's bedroom had a leak which we thought we had fixed since all winter we had no issues, but during Conference weekend when we had that really bad snow storm, the leak came back, but was worse! So, like the bathroom, Douglas knocked down the ceiling where the leak was, and tried to find where the leak was coming from. He couldn't find it, His dad came and tried finding it, but it still was leaking from the the rain storms we've had. Luckily, just a couple days ago, Douglas was able to find where it was coming from!! Hallelujah!!!! So, now we just need to put sheet rock up and get it mudded and taped as well. At least it's given us a reason to paint Mekenzie's room and the bathroom different colors! Then last but not least, during Conference Weekend, our furnace decided to stop working which we had no heat!! It was horrible, especially since it was so cold that weekend!! We just had one small space heater and a heating pad to have under our covers at night!! Our Bishop was able to come over and look at it, since that is what he does for a living, and within 20 minutes, got it fixed for us. Douglas overlooked a part that was not tightened to start the heater up. So happy we didn't have to replace it!! So, as you can see, we have some work ahead of us! It's been a blessing though that we haven't had to pay a penny yet with having extra sheetrock in our garage and helpful neighbors in our ward! Let's just pray that nothing else happens to us for a long time!!!
