My Sweet Sweet Grandma Holt had to go to the hospital again this last Monday. She started acting all weird, not knowing what was going on and kept collapsing. The doctors ran a bunch of tests and think that it either was a minor stroke, a small blood clot, or first signs of Alzheimer's. If you know Grandma, she is one to always be on the ball and in control of things. For her to not be herself is very difficult for everyone. Unfortunately, they don't think she will ever be the same. I pray things will be easy for Her and for my Grandpa. Like I've said before, they are such a rock in my life that not having them is going to be a huge struggle!! I know they are at the age of having issues and I am so grateful they haven't had serious problems till this last year, but still, I just wish they could stay healthy and be around for a long time.
This really opened my eyes about my parents. They are both about 20 years younger than my Grandparents, but have had a lot of serious health problems, even worse that could take away their lives. I had the chance to openly express my concerns to my Mom about it and told her how much each of her children want Her and my Dad to WANT to get better!! It's on them to make changes. Throughout the years, we have all put in efforts to try and help them, but really, it has to be their self motivation to change their habits and to get healthy. They both are diabetics and very much over weight. I pray too that the words that were said as well as the things that have happened to my Grandparents, will help them to want to change and do something about it!! I want them there for my Kids. I want them to be there for their Graduation, Wedding, ect. That is one thing I will always cherish with Grandma and Grandpa Holt.
