Tsunami Triathlon

Saturday, I competed in my Second Triathlon! I wanted to do one shortly after the first one I did, so this one was perfect! The Swim was only a 400 Meter, half of what my last one was and it was also in a pool, the bike was 12 Miles, and the Run was 3.3 Miles. The way they started was a little different from the last. They mixed up the Gender on who to start, but based it on the time you swim, so who ever was the fastest started First, and then every 10 seconds, they had another person jump in and so forth. I was up in the front, surrounded by Men, so that was a little intimidating, but once I got in and started swimming, I was actually catching up to the guys in front of me, so that was good!! No one was behind me the whole time Thank Goodness!!

The bike route seemed confusing when looking at it on the map, but once I started going, they had really good marks and people to guide us where to go, so it turned out great! Part of the Bike was on the New Legacy Trail and then wrapped around to go back to the Bountiful Rec Center. I really pushed myself to go faster on the bike!!

The Run is what I really wanted to improve on from my last Triathlon. My goal was to keep running and not stop!! Well, I DID IT!!! I never stopped!! The course was a rectangle which didn't have hills or anything, so that was nice!! It just inclined towards the end of the race. About 3/4 of the time, I had a guy running the exact same pace as I was, so he was my running buddy for a while! It was nice to have him with me because it helped me to not want to stop or anything!!

So overall, I did really well!! Unfortunately I can't find the results of my individual times, which I'll post once I get them, but the total time I did the race, was about 1:25:00. Not sure on the exact time, but that was what I remember! Another cool thing though is that I got 5th place out of my age 25-29 Division!! My friend Emily got 4th, so we are quite proud about that!!!

Doing these Triathlons are Amazing!!! It's such a good feeling to accomplish them!! I will be doing 2 more this year, The Herriman one in August and then the Lake Powell one in October!! My Sister Amie is planning on doing that one with me, so I'm way excited!!! As for now, I'm going HardCore on my P90X!! Wish me luck with that!! It kicks your Booty!!!!

A Fun Weekend and Birthday!!

This past Weekend was so much fun! First off, Douglas' Brother Tylor and his Wife Cherlynn, came and visited. We had a good time eating yummy food, shopping, talking, and just hanging out. I love spending time with them! They are great people!

Another fun thing was Celebrating my 25th Birthday!!!! We went out to Dinner at Outback Steakhouse which I LOVE, and played games at Aunt Josie's house. A pretty laid back Birthday, but tons of fun! Tylor even made me Cupcakes and got a cool holder for them all!! Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures, except for this lovely one of me and Mekenzie. As you can see, she loved her cupcake!! Thank You everyone who enjoyed the special Day with me!!!

My First Triathlon!!!!

So, I did it!!!!! I finished my First Triathlon! It was such an awesome experience for me. Yesterday, we got there at about 8 am. I set up my bike where I was going to do my transitions and then checked in where they wrote my number on my arm and age on my leg. My friend Emily competed with me. It was so good to have her there, since she had done one before and showed me what to do and such! Our division Female 29 and under, started at 925. We had to walk together in the water and wait till they said GO. The Swim was 1/2 Mile long. I was so pumped at this time, since swimming is my strongest! Once we started I stayed right in front making sure to keep a good lead on everyone. The open water wasn't bad doing, but the temp of the water made it hard for me to breathe! That was definitely a struggle for me to get a hang of, but I still did quite well with my time which was 12:43. Once I got out of the water, we had to go to our transition area to get ready for the bike. The biking was 13.5 Miles long. What they had us do is bike a 2 loop circle. At the beginning of it, they had a killer hill which the first time going, I had no problem, but the second time around, I was almost to the top, but had to get off and run! I cut off 2 minutes from the first loop, so I still made up time, even doing that! The rest of the loop wasn't bad! Pretty straight the whole time with a few turns! I biked in 46:35. Pretty good for my fist time!! Then it came to my run! If you've been reading my Triathlon blog, I am not a runner, so this was definitely my weakest!! The bad thing too were the stinkin' hills they had most of the 3 Miles I ran! I was so tired too, that I had to stop and walk a couple times. My time for the run was 34:24. I was hoping to stay under 30:00, but still did better than what I thought when I was running it!! So, with everything together, including my transition times, I completed the Triathlon in 1:38:45. Not so bad with being my first one!!! I know I can push myself to be better next time, especially with the run!! It's just so good now to get one out of the way, have a better idea on what to expect with my next one, and know what I need to do with my training!! I feel so good at accomplishing a Triathlon!!! I am so proud to have worked so hard!!

Douglas took video footage as well, so I will be posting that as soon as it's done!!

5 Years!!!

Today is Mine and Douglas' 5 Year Wedding Anniversary! In just this short time of being married, we have experienced so many wonderful things. Just to name a few, we have had 2 AMAZING Children come into our lives that have been huge blessing for the both of us, we've been able to enjoy our love of traveling like going to Douglas' mission in the Dominican Republic, going to Mexico on our Honeymoon, and visiting Las Vegas, which we enjoyed every minute of, and though in these 5 Years we have moved 5 times, we finally were able to have a Home of our own!! It's definitely been quite the ride with our ups and downs, but looking back, I would not change a thing. Our struggles have brought us closer together and I think Douglas knows me more than anyone else does, including myself!! He is such a wonderful Husband who has helped me through my struggles in life and has supported me through all that I do! I am blessed to have him as my Husband and hope to continue a wonderful 50+ more years on this Earth and of course through Eternity!!!! Happy Anniversary Douglas! I Love You!!!

I don't have many Pictures of our Wedding and such, but here is the link to our Wedding Album that we have:
