Les Miserables

The other night, I was flipping through the channels and came across the 25th Anniversary of Les Miserables on PBS. It was the newest cast I had seen celebrating 25 amazing years of the Musical. I was very impressed with all of the talent they had in the cast, especially one who surprised me was Nick Jonas, one of the Jonas Brothers who played Marius in the Musical. I was amazed on how well he played the part and his voice was amazing! I had seen the musical after I graduated HighSchool which was amazing in itself, but Man!! just watching that cast perform on TV was like I was actually there and I just can't get over how much I LOVE the music!! It took me back to when I used to sing all the songs on the original cast cd when I was little. No wonder why it's stayed so popular throughout all these years! If you haven't seen it, You must!! I just found out that Les Mis is coming to Salt Lake from May 25 to June 5th at the Capitol Theatre. I am definitely going to get some tickets for Douglas and I!! Oh ya, and I thought I'd put the music on my playlist incase you haven't listened to the music!!

29!!!

Just want to wish my Hubby a Happy Birthday!! He turned 29 yesterday (so weird!) and since He always does sweet things for me, I thought it'd be fun to plan a night and day today, just the two of us!!

I booked us a room last night at Anniversary Inn in the "Mountain Hideaway" Suite. It was just what we needed! If you haven't ever been there with your spouse, you really should!!! It's just so nice to get away and experience the theme rooms they have. This room was cabin like and then the jetted tub was in a cave which was a lot of fun! That's all I'll say about that :) Then today, I made reservations for us to get a couples massage. I know I know, a little on the girlie side right? But I've been wanting Douglas to get one since he is always tense in is back and neck. Luckily, he loved it!! Says it was very relaxing for him!! After the massages, we had lunch and went and saw Battle For LA. It actually was a good movie!  Don't mind the Sci Fi Movies that Douglas likes :)

So, as you can see, Douglas and I had a great time!! It went by way too fast, but so so nice!! I am so blessed to have a Husband who works SO hard for our Family, helps around the house (He does our laundry for goodness sakes), adores his kids, and is so good to his wife (Me!!)

Happy Happy Birthday my Love!!!! Can't wait for your Birthday Bash next year!! The Big 30!!!!

What a Day!!

Working for jetBlue and traveling standby is quite the adventure!! My Sister Amie and her little one Ava came and visited from Texas this last weekend. Getting here was not an issue for Her, but checking the flights going home, they were really iffy, especially getting from SLC to LGB because of how many standby were listed. So late last night, I decided I would get listed with her so she can be moved up and have a guaranteed seat assignment. It was a 630 am from SLC to LGB and then I was going to hop right back on a return flight that left at 805 from LGB. Of course with my luck, that wasn't the case! The flight from SLC was delayed due to deicing of the plane and some other maintenance issues. I was cutting it really close to make it, but as we were pulling into the gate, the other flight was leaving :( which meant the next flight wasn't till 235 this afternoon, which led me stuck in LGB for a bit!! It really ended up working out good cause Amie's flight to Austin didn't leave till 130, so her and I had quite the fun time at the airport. If you've been to the LGB airport, there isn't much to do there. At first we tried finding transportation to the mall that was about 3 miles away, but with the cost of a taxi, it really wasn't worth it. So, we decided to hang outside for a while and eat lunch at their restaurant there. It was just so nice to spend time with her one on one and with how tired we both were from getting up early and not sleeping much, we were quite giddy and probably making fools out of ourselves, but heck, I don't care cause it was the most fun I've had in a long time!! I love Amie so much!! She is such a great Sister. Flying to California for a day and helping her turned out to be so worth it!!!

More Prayers For Grandma!!

My Sweet Sweet Grandma Holt had to go to the hospital again this last Monday. She started acting all weird, not knowing what was going on and kept collapsing. The doctors ran a bunch of tests and think that it either was a minor stroke, a small blood clot, or first signs of Alzheimer's. If you know Grandma, she is one to always be on the ball and in control of things. For her to not be herself is very difficult for everyone. Unfortunately, they don't think she will ever be the same. I pray things will be easy for Her and for my Grandpa. Like I've said before, they are such a rock in my life that not having them is going to be a huge struggle!! I know they are at the age of having issues and I am so grateful they haven't had serious problems till this last year, but still, I just wish they could stay healthy and be around for a long time.

This really opened my eyes about my parents. They are both about 20 years younger than my Grandparents, but have had a lot of serious health problems, even worse that could take away their lives. I had the chance to openly express my concerns to my Mom about it and told her how much each of her children want Her and my Dad to WANT to get better!! It's on them to make changes. Throughout the years, we have all put in efforts to try and help them, but really, it has to be their self motivation to change their habits and to get healthy. They both are diabetics and very much over weight. I pray too that the words that were said as well as the things that have happened to my Grandparents, will help them to want to change and do something about it!! I want them there for my Kids. I want them to be there for their Graduation, Wedding, ect. That is one thing I will always cherish with Grandma and Grandpa Holt.
